The city of Jerusalem, located in the Judean Mountains, between the Mediterranean Sea and the Dead Sea, has a history that can be dated as early as the fourth millennium B.C. The city is rich with history and religious significance. According to Jewish tradition, the city was founded by Shem and Eber, ancestors of Abraham. Later, King David made Jerusalem the capitol of the Kingdom of Israel. He brought the Ark of the Covenant to Jerusalem intending to build the Temple of God that would later be completed by King Soloman.

Thousands of people visit the area every year to see the Holy Land firsthand. The Holy Land is an important spiritual place for Christians because is the place of the birth of Jesus, the place where he traveled, performing miracles and teaching the gospel, and it is the place of his crucifixion and resurrection. The Bible is full of references to the Holy Land, and Jesus’ life there is documented in the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. There are many holy sites to see in the Holy Land important to Christianity.
